Sad indeed.

My neighbor is missing one of the wheel well trim pieces. (2001 Escape)

Perhaps a deal can be made. I'll let him know when I see him. His trim is grey also but I'm not sure if it's the same grey.

Alright, show them the ad.

Also, best offer I got for the whole car was $270 from Cash for Trash. Another company only offered $200, and refused to beat the CfT price.

What year is this? New cars come with fairly lengthy corrosion warranties. I want to say I've seen 12 years. You may want to check as the vehicle may still be under a corrosion warranty.

Is the cancer the reason you have to part with it?

It's probably just outside of it's corrosion warranty unfortunately. I've been there on not being able to afford something you like and have. It's a crappy situation, but the sooner you get out of that situation, the sooner you can get back on your feet, which usually allows you to upgrade anyhow.

Is it mechanically okay, and just the body is the issue? because if that is all, I think you have a more than fair price. If I was in the market for a new car, I would definately look at it, Idaho doesn't require car inspections, and my moms 05 escape is quite a bit easier to drive my 2000 merc mountaineer, I hope you get full price, because I think thats a great deal.

The body is an issue that stops it from passing inspection, but it needs some other things as well, right front suspension is causing a loose tierod, the flexpipe is bad, (and make it sound ultra beefy as a result), and there's a minor leak on the engine, diff, and transmission., making it "sweat"

Also, rust kills cars in salt-soaked Ontario.

We just sold our 05.

I absolutely hated that car. It was rusted out, the front end had issues ever since my dad wrecked it (it should have been totaled), and it was ugly.

I was happy to see it go.
